What People Say

Most Liked

The burgers at Gonzales are hand-crafted, thick, and juicy, drawing rave reviews from locals and newcomers alike. Many diners love the simplicity of the menu, which makes choices easy without overwhelming options. The signature bacon cheeseburger is a must-try and a crowd favorite, praised for its quality and flavor. Patrons enjoy the crunchy, well-seasoned onion rings and the option to mix and match sides, creating the perfect combo with their burgers.

The casual atmosphere enhances the family-friendly experience. Diners share laughs, stories, and great meals, creating a sense of community. Fast service keeps the food coming while diners engage in conversation, making each visit more enjoyable. The nostalgia wrapped in the restaurant's long-standing presence adds to the charm, compelling many to return time after time.

Most Disliked

The most notable downside is the cash-only policy, catching some new visitors off guard. It's enlightening to know beforehand, as individuals may need to organize their finances before enjoying a meal. Some diners mention limited seating, which can create a packed environment during peak hours. This popular spot fills up quickly and may deter those seeking a quiet meal.

Another area for improvement is that they no longer cut fries in-house. While the frozen bagged fries taste fine, those looking for fresh, hand-cut options may feel a bit let down. Additionally, patrons who've encountered the server's brusque demeanor occasionally wish for a more welcoming interaction, though it adds a quirky charm some have come to appreciate over time.

Burger was great, I liked the simple menu which makes it easier to choose what you want. The service was also great and the atmosphere is simple with no distractions like TV's or annoying loud music. We are definitely coming back when they open again on October.

This place is iconic, and even though there's no sign anymore, you can tell this place is a hotspot. Meat quality was excellent, and the size of the burger was immensely satisfying. Top that off with buttered and toasted buns, tasty fries, and a vintage atmosphere that's getting harder to find as the years pass by. I would definitely come here again (but earlier!). Be prepared to wait a while if you come in after 12, but you'll be glad you stayed.

Seasonal restaurant only open a few month out of the year . This is a CASH ONLY location . Come prepared. Menu isn’t huge burgers are amazing . If you are looking to good hearty burger this is the place to go.

The burgers are amazing! Onion rings are good, but the burgers are awesome. Not a lot of seating in this place. It doesn't have a fancy sign outside and does not look like anything special till you try the burgers.

No soup for you! - IYKYK - that’s the attitude of the male behind the counter. Very much need to know what you want and speak loud and clear with him. LOL Other than his brashness, this place is a definite must try. Few things to note for eating here: CASH ONLY OPEN 11am-2pm Seats about 30 max No longer cutting their own fries daily (bagged frozen) Prices are tax included There are no building signs, there are no door signs, you better use GPS because even the locals (we met) have never heard of this place. You have to experience it. I have never had a burger that was that thick and still juicy and tasty. They know how to cook a mean burger. Expensive but worth it. Could/ should share a burger because they are so large! Try it. YOLO

Really good burger. Very large but very tasty. They offer knives so you can cut them in half which we did. Place was very busy and lined up waiting for burgers. Go hungry

These burger aren’t for the weak, come hungry, they are like a pound each patty. Great taste, like homemade. Basket of onion rings and fries fed 3. Saw a family of 4 with one double meat to share, it works. The atmosphere is of the 80’s, back in the day. I passed by it, didn’t realize it was the place. No fountain drinks just canned. Cash only. So worth it though. They open from 11am till 2PM.Onion rings are the bomb. Just great all the way around.
